The Revo Intercooler upgrade for the Ford Mustang 2.3 EcoBoost utilizes unique design features to lower intake air temperatures, minimize pressure drop and allow the engine to produce impressive power and torque increases.
The Mustang’s turbocharged 4-cylinder engine produces extreme intake temperatures that the standard intercooler struggles to cope with, especially after consecutive hard use. The Revo Intercooler combats this by directly replacing the OE part, enhancing cooling efficiency by up to 39ºC, allowing you to drive harder, for longer.

INCREASED CORE VOLUME
The Revo Intercooler was built around the simple principle of creating the largest amount of surface area possible to improve cooling efficiency. Using a unique technique, the Revo Intercooler for the Mustang features a stepped core design, improving cooling by utilizing cold ambient air from the front of the vehicle, while also allowing a slower flow of air through the main body below.

END TANK DESIGN
The Revo Intercooler end tanks are precision cast to eliminate turbulence and ensure the maximum amount of air can reach the core. Smoother internals allows air to flow freely and are not obstructed by welds or inefficient construction found in the standard OE intercooler. End tanks play an important part in maintaining pressure and work in harmony with the core to promote air flow.
BAR & PLATE
Designed with a bar and plate core to guarantee the efficiency of heat transfer, this also minimizes pressure drop as the air meets less resistance compared to that of a tube and fin alternative. The Intercooler also features louvered fins to slow ambient air flow which improves heat transfer, along with an offset internal fin design to balance surface area and resistance to minimize pressure drop.
TESTING
All Revo testing is done in-house by our own engineers using a 4wheel DynaPack hub dyno to ensure fair and accurate results for all vehicles tested.
The Revo Mustang Air intake was tested on an in-house, US-spec. 2.3L Ecoboost Mustang, fitted with the full Revo Stage 2 Package. Comparison runs were carried out with the stock intercooler vs the Revo intercooler
PERFORMANCE DATA
Showing the last of five consecutive dyno runs, the efficiency of the Revo Intercooler over the stock part is highlighted. With peak gains of +26 HP & +23NM Torque, along with increased performance throughout the entire rev range, the stock intercooler struggles to effectively function in comparison to the Revo Intercooler which remained consistent throughout.
OUTLET TEMPERATURE
This graph illustrates the increased cooling performance of the Revo intercooler vs the stock cooler overall five runs. The Revo Intercooler keeps temperatures below 90ºC on the fifth run, lower than the stock on its first at 96ºC. It is also apparent that the ECU was pulling back timing on the fifth run of the stock cooler to control intake air temperatures.
INTERCOOLER PRESSURE DROP GRAPH
Pressure drop is an important factor when it comes to choosing an Intercooler. The Revo solution features custom cast end tanks to evenly distribute air over the core. This graph highlights the consistent pressure in comparison to the stock part, ensuring engine response and minimizing turbo lag. You can rest assured that your Mustang will drive and respond as you would expect standard.
